In 1952 432 Beech C-45, AT-7 and AT-11s were completely rebuilt and upgraded with new components. Because of the extensive rework and modifications bringing the aircraft to "zero-time" status, the planes were re-designated C-45H and given 1952 serial numbers.

The C-45H, like the G model, was fitted with a strengthened center wing section, new landing gear, larger engine nacelles, constant speed, feathering propellers and instrument upgrades. The one of the significant differences between the G and H model was the lack of an autopilot on the -H model.

More than 400 C-45Hs entered service in 1952 and remained throughout the 1950s into the early 1960s. The planes were used primarily for staff transport, light cargo, liaison and administrative missions.
