The National Museum of the United States Air Force hosts outdoor aviation events each year (weather permitting). Here is a list of upcoming events:

Vectren Dayton Air Show
June 20-21, 2015
Dayton Air Show Make sure to stop by the museum's booth during the Dayton Air Show on Saturday, June 20. Also, visitors can park at the museum and ride the Miami Valley RTA bus to the air show, which takes place at Dayton International Airport on June 20-21. Continuous RTA service runs from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. A round-trip ticket costs $3, and children under age 5 ride free (cash only). The museum will be open from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on both days, and free Family Day activities are planned for 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.

Freedom's Call Celebration
June 26, 2015
Freedom's Call Celebration Join Wright-Patterson Air Force Base for the annual Freedom's Call Celebration. The event features live music and fireworks, and it takes place on the museum's back field. FREE admission and parking.

Giant Scale Radio-Controlled Model Aircraft Air Show
Sept. 4-6, 2015
Giant Scale RC Air Show See daring acrobatics performed by model jets, helicopters and warbirds during a three-day air show of giant scale radio-controlled aircraft on the runway behind the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. This event is hosted by the museum each year over Labor Day weekend and is sponsored by the Dayton Ohio Giant Scalers. Hours for the event are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. FREE admission and parking. World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous
Sept. 24-25, 2016
World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous One of the nation's premier historical aviation events will bring the excitement and adrenaline of early air power to Ohio. The three-day World War I Dawn Patrol Rendezvous features vintage original and reproduction WWI aircraft, radio-controlled models, era automobiles, period re-enactors, a collector's show and educational activities. This flying event is offered every other year by the museum and the Great War Aeroplanes Association. Hours for the event are 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day. FREE admission and parking.
