8/1/2007 - DAYTON, Ohio -- Giant-scale models of some of history's greatest aircraft will land on the runway behind the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force from Aug. 31 through Sept. 2.

The 12th Annual Giant Scale Radio-Controlled Model Aircraft Air Show is scheduled during Labor Day weekend and features aircraft from all eras of aviation history. More than 100 pilots will entertain audiences as they perform skillful and daring aerobatic maneuvers with RC (radio-controlled) aircraft.

Sponsored by the Dayton Ohio Giant Scalers, the air show is scheduled from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and Saturday and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday. The aircraft will perform a heritage show from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. each day. The show will feature heritage to current day flying aircraft as a tribute to the 60th anniversary to the U.S. Air Force.

The event is open to the public, and admission and parking are free. Food and merchandise will be available for purchase.

Those interested in attending the air show should enter the museum gate off Springfield Pike and follow the signs to the event area behind the museum. Visitors are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and blankets.
