5/22/2012 - DAYTON, Ohio -- "Play ball!" The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force will celebrate baseball season during Family Day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on June 9.

Visitors can learn the science behind a curve ball as they try out their skill at throwing one! Other demonstration stations look at the science behind a variety of sports.

"Storytime" begins at 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the Early Years Gallery. Preschool and primary-grade children are invited to sit under the wings of airplanes to hear stories and make an aviation-related craft.

During this month's Aerospace Adventure, participants can make and fly a ring-wing glider. This free activity takes place from 1:30-3 p.m. in the event area near the Korean War Gallery.

Family Day is free and visitors of all ages may participate in these aviation-related activities located throughout the museum galleries. No advance reservations are necessary. Call the Education Division at (937) 255-4646 for additional information.
