Can Now Register For
2025 Read Across America Program!

The museum is once again proud to participate in the
National Education Association’s Read Across America program.

In 2025 we were excited to offer both in-person and online options, allowing participation no matter your geographic location.
 

Participate on your schedule throughout the month of March

 

No matter your geographic location, educators and youth leaders are invited to register for the FREE virtual reading program!

The Museum’s Education Division has selected a variety of age-appropriate books for 1st - 5th grade readers to be featured in this year's virtual Read Across America program. With permission from the authors and publishers of these books, a YouTube link to a short video (8 -15 minute) of each book will be provided to all registrants. Each video will include the book reading, with images from the book, and a short tour of a corresponding museum exhibit.

Books and guest readers are:

“Grandpa Takes Me to THE MOON" read by author Timothy Gaffney

“We Love Flying” read by author Lia Ocampo

“Tiny Jumper: How Tiny Broadwick Created the Parachute Rip Cord” read by Ohio Education Association Vice-President Jeff Wensing

“Blast Off: How Mary Sherman Morgan Fueled America Into Space” read by Ohio Education Association – Retired Educator Joni Watson

Register now for access to these videos. 

To register, email the Education Division at NationalMuseum.MUT@us.af.mil.
Include "Read Across America" in the subject line and add your name, city and state in the body of the email. 

At the request of the authors and publishers, access to these videos will be restricted from March 1-31, 2025. All registrants will be granted access starting March 1, 2025.

Participate in Person March 6th or 7th

We are excited to once again offer an in-person option to bring your students to the museum where volunteers will bring six books to life at the museum exhibit corresponding to the theme of each book. 

All books are targeted to 1st – 5th grade readers.

Advanced registration is required and space is limited to the first 24 classes each day.
