Austro-Hungarian Transportation Corp Collar Insignia

This insignia was worn by members of the Transportation Corp of the Austro-Hungarian Army.  The Austro-Hungarian Army was the combined military force of Austria and Hungary during World War I.

 

The three components of this Army were the Common Army (soldiers recruited from all areas of the Austro-Hungarian Empire), the Imperial-Royal Landwehr (the army of the Austrian half of the Austro-Hungarian Empire from 1869-1918, and the Royal Hungarian Honvéd (the army of the Kingdom of Hungary and the Kingdom Croatia-Slavonia; honvéd in Hungarian means "defender of the fatherland”).

 

This metal insignia is 1-11/16 inches high by 1-3/4 inches wide.
