In accordance with the updated guidance released by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Department of Defense (DoD) and Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force will require all visitors to wear face masks indoors effective July 30, 2021 until further notice.
Visitors ages three and up will be required to wear masks while indoors at the museum. This policy applies to all visitors, staff and volunteers regardless of vaccination status. Visitors may wear their own masks or a free paper mask will be provided. Cloth masks will also be available for purchase in the Museum Store.
Additional information available here.
Please note Springfield Street, the road that leads to the museum’s entrance, is undergoing construction through the beginning of September. Expect lane reductions and some delays. Please follow the signs and instructions provided by the road crews.
2nd and 3rd grade teachers are invited to register for this very unique opportunity!
The Museum’s Education Division has selected 5 age-appropriate books this year. With permission from the authors and publishers of these books, a short (8 to 15 minute) video of each book will be made available to those who register. Each of these YouTube videos will include the book being read (with images from the book) and a short tour of a corresponding museum exhibit!
Per the request of the authors and publishers, access to these videos must be restricted. These videos will only be available from March 2-30, 2021.
Interested teachers must register to gain access to these video links by emailing the Education Division at NationalMuseum.MUT@us.af.mil. The first 1,500 requestors will be granted access.
You can register now but will not be able to view the videos until March 2. Once we receive a maximum 1,500 email requests, registration will be closed.
We look forward to hopefully inviting you and your students to attend our Read Across America program in person next year!
If you have any questions, please contact Mr. John Duren at 937-255-4652.
