The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force invites all Teachers and Educators to join us for the 2023 virtual Read Across America program.

Teachers and Educators, no matter their geographic location, are invited to register for this FREE, unique opportunity!

The Museum’s Education Division has selected four age-appropriate books for second and third grade readers to be featured in this year's virtual Read Across America program. With permission from the authors and publishers of these books, a YouTube link to a short video (8 -15 minute) of each book will be provided to all registrants. Each video will include the book reading, with images from the book, and a short tour of a corresponding museum exhibit.

Books and guest readers are:

-"The Tuskegee Airmen Story" read by Willie Reese, U.S. Air Force veteran and nephew of Tuskegee Airman Lt. Col. Luke Weathers, Jr.

-“Pilot Mom” read by pilot Jo Dibble

-“Mercedes and the Chocolate Pilot: A True Story of the Berlin Airlift and the Candy that Dropped from the Sky” read by Mark Hill, Ohio Education Association (OEA) secretary-treasurer

-“A Boy and His Blackbird” read by Jeff Wensing, OEA vice president

-Additional books may be added, follow us here for updates.

Register now for access to these videos.

To register, email the Education Division at
NationalMuseum.MUT@us.af.mil.
Include "Read Across America" in the subject line and add your name, city and state in the body of the email.

At the request of the authors and publishers, access to these videos will be restricted from March 1-31, 2023. All registrants will be granted access starting March 1, 2023.
