"That's All Brother" - July 28 - 31

Commemorative Air Force C-47 Skytrain "That's All Brother" flies through a blue sky"That's All Brother" will fly in to Wright Field behind the Museum on July 28 at approximately 1:20 p.m. The aircraft will be open for public tours until 5 p.m. the day of arrival, and then from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. July 29 - 31. 

Visitors wishing to watch the arrival can do so from Memorial Park or the Museum parking lot.
Note that the above schedule is weather and maintenance dependent. 

This opportunity is free and open to the public.

Brought to us by the Commemorative Air Force (CAF) Central Texas Wing, museum visitors will have the opportunity to get an up close look at this Douglass C-47 Skytrain that led over 800 aircraft in the main airborne invasion of Normandy on June 6, 1944, dropping over 13,000 paratroopers into battle and changing the course of history.

"That's All Brother" also flew in Operations Dragoon, Market Garden, Repulse, and Varsity. This aircraft has been restored to its D-Day paint scheme and has a historic interior restoration.

ASBP Blood Drive - Aug. 2

Friday, Aug. 2 from 9:30 a.m. - 2:30 p.m under the wings of the B-52 in the second building. Walk-ins are welcome or pre-register by clicking the image.

ASBP will provide t-shirts and snacks following your donation. 

All blood types are accepted and there is currently a significant need for type O blood.  Additionally, the Food and Drug Administration (FDA), has updated guidance for the Variant Creutzfeldt-Jakob disease (vCJD) or “Mad Cow” disease deferral. Contact the Armed Services Blood Program for more information.

USO Presents "Come From Away - Aug. 20

Come see a diverse array of unique, scaled model aircraft, locomotives and motor vehicles of all kinds featured against the backdrop of the museum's aircraft displays. Don't miss the chance to interact with the modelers and learn about the model-making process. Advanced registration is not required to attend this unique and inspiring event.

Cosmic Camp After Dark event: Sept. 7

Top Secret: License to Spy - Sept. 15 - Dec. 16

Museum visitors will be required to go undercover and enter a world of coded messages and satellite surveillance when they take on the role of a secret agent in the latest feature exhibition, Top Secret: Licence to Spy, coming September 15.

This special exhibit is FREE and open to the public from 9 a.m. - 5 p.m. daily.

Top Secret explores the science and technology of spying and espionage, including how to uncover a radio bug with an oscilloscope and using lasers to monitor conversations. Visitors will gather the intelligence needed to achieve their mission by breaking codes, uncovering microdots, using spy satellites and creating elusive disguises.

Top Secret will amaze kids and adults alike with behind the scenes glimpse of an undercover world that has been re-created with life-like sets and activities. Science has never been so….Top Secret!

Plane Talks in honor of the Air Force Birthday - Sept. 18

Plane Talks in honor of the Air Force Birthday, Wednesday September 18 from 10:30 am - 3:30 pm. There is a red border around the text and the page is decorated with red and blue stars.Celebrate the Air Force's 77th Birthday with "Plane Talks" on Wednesday, Sept. 18 from 10:30 a.m. - 3:30 p.m..

Visitors are invited to listen and interact with subject matter experts located throughout the museum’s galleries as they speak about their unique experiences serving our nation's Air Force, and learn more about the artifacts and aircraft located in the museum.

Plane Talks occurs a few times a year, bringing to life the development and service history of the aircraft and exhibits on display at the museum. Various subject matter experts will be stationed in the galleries near the aircraft or exhibit that relates to their expertise. Experts include veterans, active duty, former pilots, crew members, engineers, navigators, and more. Plane Talks programs often occur in conjunction with the anniversary of a significant Air Force or military event.

Kids will be able to build and launch their own model rocket with the help from the Wright Stuff Rocketeers*, test out the Bernoulli Shooter, launch paper rockets, try their hand at Rocket Trivia and MORE!.
