Crew Compartment Trainer
STS-38 Mission Specialist Robert C. Springer, wearing launch and entry suit, climbs through the side hatch of the Crew Compartment Trainer (CCT) in May 1990. Springer will practice emergency egress through the side hatch using the crew escape system pole (at Springer's left). The inflated safety cushion under Springer will break his fall as he rolls out of the side hatch. (NASA photo)
