Crew Compartment Trainer

Three astronauts named in January 1987 as part of a five-member crew for NASA's first flight since the Challenger accident are shown in a photo session in July 1986. Left to right are astronauts John M. (Mike) Lounge, Richard O. Covey and David C. Hilmers. Lounge and Hilmers will serve as mission specialists for the STS-26 flight and Covey will serve as pilot. The three are on the mid deck of the Crew Compartment Trainer. (NASA photo)
