Col. Francis S. Gabreski Cloth Nametag

This cloth nametag belonged to Col. Francis S. Gabreski, who was one of the few pilots to become an ace in two wars (World War II and the Korean War). He was also a prisoner of war in Stalag Luft 1 during WWII. As the eighth jet ace in aerial history, Gabreski had a combined score of 37.5 enemy aircraft destroyed (34.5 aerial victories) during WWII and Korea. (U.S. Air Force photo)
