Return with Honor: Prisoners of War in Southeast Asia

POWs in South Vietnam, held by Viet Cong guerillas, were typically held in cages or huts, or were fully exposed to the steaming jungle weather and insects. They usually had inadequate food, water and medicine. Prisoners in Laos and Cambodia faced similar hardships where the environment, disease, and constant movement multiplied their suffering.
