9th Aero Squadron Aircraft Insigne

This squadron was organized at Kelly Field, Texas, on June 14, 1917, from Company E, Provisional Aviation School Squadron. This squadron was an Army Observation Squadron that performed long-range strategic night reconnaissance over the Western Front in France in 1918. The squadron’s insignia is an aircraft flying at night within the search area of three search lights forming the Roman numerals IX (9). (U.S. Air Force photo)

Screening at Entrance
All visitors may be screened with a metal detector upon entry. In addition all bags are subject to search and may be placed through an X-Ray machine. Weapons are not permitted including pocket knives and firearms, to include conceal carry and other dangerous weapons.
