The Rhine and its Legends

This sightseeing brochure was produced by the YMCA for soldiers serving with the American Army of Occupation headquartered at Coblenz, Germany. This pamphlet, produced in February 1919, was written by Alfred J. Pearson of Duke University and illustrated by George T. Plowman. It summarizes the history and legends of the many castles and historic locations bordering the Rhine River near Coblenz. (U.S. Air Force photo)
