Titan IVB
DAYTON, Ohio - Titan IVB stage one, and the solid rocket motor upgrades(SRMU's) were raised into their final position from 14-18 March, 2016. Orbit Industrial Contractors, Consolidated Machinery Movers, and museum restoration crews worked together using various lifts and a gantry crane system. The impressive Titan IVB, with roots going back to the early days of U.S. Air Force and civil space launch, is significant as the museum looks to share the story of USAF and USAF-enabled space operations in its Space Gallery. The Titan IVB will be on display in the new fourth building at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force which opens to the public on June 8.
