Eddie V. Rickenbacker WWI Diary
Capt. Edward V. Rickenbacker's 1918 wartime diary entry. (05/12/1918). Had a wonderful day. Went over to Chateau Cirey, the place where an aviator may go for rest. Certainly was beautiful fishing, hunting. After looking the place over we had tea and said goodbye. Col. Mitchell suggested we go to Chaumont for dinner, which we did. Had a wonderful time and left for home arriving about 3:00 A.M.
