Eddie V. Rickenbacker WWI Diary
<12th Victory> Was out this evening and met one Hannover biplace over Montfaucon. Fired about 130 rounds he was later seen to land. A few minutes later ran into 7 Fokkers, fired about 200 rounds and was forced down very near ground. Thought my days were ended. Lt. Cook got another balloon this morning on the ground west of Grandpre.
