Museum Light Conservation
Sarah Gilcrease, textile conservator in the Collections Division of the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, utilizes the blue wool system for monitoring the light damage to artifacts in the museum. Blue wool test strips are installed in the exhibit cases and are then compared with an unexposed blue wool test strip to determine the amount of fading from light damage.
