Army Air Forces Enlisted in WWII
Accurate forecasts were critical to determining if and when to launch aerial missions. The AAF relied upon their Weather Service meteorologists who were primarily enlisted men. In this photo, technical sergeants use a weather balloon and kite to measure and record findings during training in England in 1943.
