Flight Nurses

1st Lt Aleda Lutz flew 196 missions, evacuating over 3,500 men. In 1944, the C-47 she was on returning from the front lines crashed, killing all onboard. Lutz was awarded the Distinguished Flying Cross, Air Medal with four Oak Leaf clusters, European-Africa-Middle Eastern Campaign Medal, Red Cross Medal, and Purple Heart.
