88th Air Base Wing Vice Commander Col. Daniel Semsel presented Springboro resident Garry Guthrie with the Team Wright-Patt "Volunteer of the Quarter" award for the fourth quarter of 2012 on April 4.

Guthrie began volunteering at the museum in March 2010 and has accumulated nearly 4,000 hours of service. He has worked on a number of restoration projects, including aircraft engines and the A-10 ammo loading system, which includes a GAU-8A 30mm gun. He also spends several days each week serving as a gallery monitor and has supported the Education Division by guiding Behind the Scenes Tours of the restoration area and assisting with Family Day and summer Aerospace Camp programs.

More than 500 people volunteer at the museum in nearly every division and activity. For more information about volunteering, please visit www.nationalmuseum.af.mil/volunteer/.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force is located on Springfield Street, six miles northeast of downtown Dayton. It is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day). Admission and parking are free.
