Catch the excitement of the boomerang during Family Day from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. on April 20 at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Designed for children and adults of all ages, Family Day offers several hands-on aerospace demonstration stations for all to enjoy.

Visitors can listen to world-famous boomerang expert Gary Broadbent at 1:30 p.m. during a free educational and inspirational program that discusses the history, science, craft, hobby, sport, art and competition of boomerangs. An autograph session will take place following Broadbent's presentation.

"Storytime" begins at 11:30 a.m. and 1:15 p.m. in the Early Years Gallery. Preschool and primary-grade children are invited to sit under the wings of airplanes and listen to stories about boomerangs, then make their own paper boomerangs.

The event is free, and visitors of all ages may participate in these aviation-related activities located throughout the museum galleries. No advanced reservations are necessary. Call the Education Division at (937) 255-4646 for additional information.

The National Museum of the United States Air Force is located on Springfield Street, six miles northeast of downtown Dayton. It is open seven days a week from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (closed Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's Day). Admission and parking are free.
