Dayton -- On Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force will host the Antique Automobile Club of America (AACA) Annual Grand Nationals, featuring hundreds of beautifully restored classic vehicles on display.
Visitors can expect to see a wide range of automobiles representing decades of automotive history, maintained and presented by collectors from across the country. The AACA Grand Nationals is considered one of the organization’s premier events, with participation limited to vehicles that have previously earned a Senior Award at a National Meet.
The car show is free and open to the public. In addition to the outdoor displays, guests are encouraged to explore the museum’s vast indoor exhibits, which highlight military aviation from the earliest days of flight through today’s technology. A special tie-in for this event can be found in the WWII Gallery, where a 1942 Packard Clipper—on loan from America’s Packard Museum—is on display. Many Packards served as staff cars during WWII and were used by high-ranking officers including Generals Eisenhower and MacArthur.
