'Volunteer of the Quarter' recognized at museum

DAYTON, Ohio --  88th Air Base Wing Vice Commander Col. Elena M. Oberg presented Englewood resident Larry Youngblood with the Team Wright-Patt “Volunteer of the Quarter” award for the third quarter of 2015 on Dec. 9.

Youngblood began volunteering at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force in June 2010 and has accumulated more than 1,700 volunteer hours. His museum service started after his retirement from the Miami Valley Career Technical Center, where he was a welding instructor for 33 years. Over the past five years, he has worked on several museum restoration projects, including the A-1H and MiG-21 aircraft and the M151 Forward Air Control Jeep.

The National Museum of the U.S. Air Force, located at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio, is the world’s largest military aviation museum.
