"Taffy" Jacket

The donor of this jacket was a sergeant pilot before receiving his commission. He flew 10 missions as a B-24 pilot and then was reassigned to P-38 fighters and flew 50 more missions from North Africa and Italy. He nicknamed his P-38 "Taffy" for his wife while assigned to the 97th Fighter Squadron. The silver bell on the zipper (not shown) was a good luck charm which he purchased on the island of Capri.

The jacket was donated by Maj. (Ret.) Walter F. Zurney, Ford City, Penn.
