"Ice-Cold Katy" Jacket

"Ice-Cold Katy" was a B-17 with the 447th Bomb Group, 8th Air Force. Lt. Donald B. Rubin, to whom this jacket was issued, was killed in action in October 1944 while serving as a lead navigator. He flew 30 missions, which are represented by the bombs painted on the back. The insigne on the front (not shown) is that of the 711th Bomb Squadron.

The jacket was donated by Dr. Louise R. Greenswag, Davenport, Iowa.
