1919 Back Parachute

Note: This item is currently in storage.

This item was used on March 28, 1919, for the first jump from an airplane with a free back pack parachute, at McCook Field in Dayton, Ohio. Civilian Leslie Irving jumped from a DH-9 flown by Floyd Smith, the designer of the parachute.
