Chuck Yeager Flying Suit

This T-1 flying suit was worn by Brig. Gen. Charles E. "Chuck" Yeager during his X-1 flight tests in 1947. General Yeager gained fame as the first man to fly faster than the speed of sound. This historic flight in the Bell X-1 aircraft took place Oct. 14, 1947, at Muroc Dry Air Field (now Edwards Air Force Base), Calif.
