Spiritual Support: Chaplain Chris Martin

DAYTON, Ohio - Chaplain Chris Martin's K-2B suit worn during his tour at Takhli. It carries the insignia of the 355th TFW's three squadrons, the 333rd Tactical Fighter Squadron (TFS), 354th TFS and 357th TFS. At Takhli, the Wild Weaselds did not fly as a separate squadron. Rather, they were spread out between the three squadrons. (U.S. Air Force photo)

Chaplains like Col. Chris Martin could regularly be seen on the flight line blessing the aircrews as they taxied out for takeoff. They also provided needed counseling between missions.

Chaplain Martin originally served in the U.S. Air Force as a transport pilot in the 1950s. After attending divinity school, he served as a USAF chaplain for 22 years, including a tour with the 355th TFW at Takhli Royal Thai Air Force Base in 1967.
