DAYTON, Ohio -- Former presidential flight steward John Hames will present "Air Force One" at 7 p.m. on Nov. 20 at the National Museum of the United States Air Force.

The Boeing VC-137C SAM 26000 on display at the museum was the first jet ever designed exclusively for presidential use and used the call sign Air Force One whenever the president was aboard. The aircraft served from 1962 to 1998 and was the aircraft that transported President John F. Kennedy's body from Dallas after his assassination in 1963.

Hames' presentation focuses on the aircraft's historic trips to Dallas on Nov. 22, 1963, Moscow in 1963 and China in 1972. He also will discuss its last official trip carrying Vice President Al Gore on May 19, 1998, and the aircraft's retirement trip to the museum on May 20, 1998. The presentation will include two short film clips highlighting the retirement ceremony and a "Lost and Found" segment from The History Channel, which was filmed at the museum.

The presentation, which is part of the museum's Volunteer Information Program, is free and open to the public. Call (937) 255-8099, ext. 313, for additional information.
