Groups & Tours

Behind the Scenes TourThere are several public tours available at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. Listed below are a variety of ways to tour the museum's facilities.

Special arrangements can be made for school, Scouts and youth groups, motorcoach tours and military reunion groups. Click on the links below for more information.

Self Tours

The museum is laid out in chronological order, making it easy for visitors to self tour the facility. Click here for a virtual tour of the museum to help you plan your visit.

USAF Heritage Tours

These free guided tours of the museum are offered daily and last approximately one hour and 30 minutes. Advance registration is not necessary.

10 a.m. - Early Years and World War II Galleries (meet at entrance to Early Years Gallery)

11:30 a.m. - Korea, Southeast Asia, Cold War and Missile Galleries (meet at information desk in second building)

Noon - Fourth Building (meet at information desk in fourth building)

1:30 p.m. - Early Years and World War II Galleries (meet at entrance to Early Years Gallery)

3 p.m. - Fourth Building (meet at information desk in fourth building)

Military Reunions

The museum is a popular destination for many military reunion groups each year. For information about planning a military reunion at the museum or dedicating a plaque, bench or statue in Memorial Park, please see the Military Reunions page.

School & Youth Groups

The museum has an extensive educational program for all ages, including guided tours, informational scavenger hunts, in-depth lectures, workshops and more. Click here for information about these programs.

  • Behind the Scenes Tours

    Behind the Scenes Tours are regularly scheduled, free guided tours of the museum's restoration area. Participants are shuttled to the restoration hangars, located about one mile from the main museum complex. Tours are offered every Friday (some exceptions) at 12:15 p.m. Advance registration is required. Sign up early as tours may fill up quickly!

    To register for tours, please select a date from the list below and submit a registration form or call (937) 656-9436. Please note that a separate registration form must be submitted for each person.

    There have been changes to the registration process. Additional instructions are included on the form.

    - Participants must be at least 12 years old. Those under age 18 must be escorted by an adult (one adult per two children); children are not required to produce identification when accompanying their parents. 
    - Addresses provided at pre-registration must match that on the ID presented on the date of the tour. 
    - A current government-issued photo ID (i.e. state ID or driver's license) is required for citizens of the U.S. and U.S. territories over age 18. All foreign visitors must present an original passport.

    Note: The museum reserves the right to cancel a tour if the minimum number of registrants is not met.
