Subject matter is targeted mostly towards students in grades 5 and above. However, the entire family is encouraged to attend.

In some cases, take-home, hands-on extension projects will be distributed to those in attendance.

Seating in the auditorium will open no earlier than 15 minutes before each program begins.

Hands-on Classes

There will be four separate hands-on classes in the museum's Learning Center (second floor).

This room has a limited seating capacity, so participation is limited to youngsters of the correct age level only (no siblings or parents). Line numbers will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis beginning at 9 a.m. on Oct. 6 in Kettering Hall. Seating in the classroom will begin 15 minutes before the class starting time. If space allows, those on a "stand-by" basis will be allowed into the classroom beginning five minutes before the class begins.

Guided Tours

There are two choices for guided tours: 10:15-11:30 a.m. or 1:30-2:45 p.m.

Tours begin in Kettering Hall and are appropriate for the entire family (all ages)! The tour covers all areas of the museum, from the Early Years to the Space Gallery.

Storytimes

There are three choices: 9:30-10:15 a.m., 11:15-noon or 1:15-2 p.m. Storytimes take place at the entrance to the Early Years Gallery next to the 1909 Wright Flyer.
Storytime is for youngsters from 3-5 years old. One adult must stay with the child.

Seating is limited, so each child may attend only one session (all three sessions are the same). The theme for each session is "Whirligigs and the Wright Brothers." Sessions include stories and a hands-on craft activity.

Scavenger Hunts

There are two different scavenger hunts available (for ages 5-18). These are self-guided family activities. Materials may be picked up at tables near the entrance to the Early Year's Gallery from 9 a.m.-4 p.m.

Aerospace Demo Stations

Science, technology and engineering principles will be demonstrated at various stations in the center of the museum's second building. Stop by any of the stations from 9 a.m.-4 p.m. for a quick and informative demo/activity.
