German Ace and American Citizen Lt. Arthur Rahn served with Jagdstaffels 15, 18 and 19 in the Imperial German Air Service and is credited with six confirmed victories in WWI. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1928 and settled near Detroit, Michigan. Following WWII, Rahn started his own steel fabricating business, and he passed away in 1962. Medal of Honor-Captain Jay Zeamer

DAYTON, Ohio -- Rear side of Capt. Jay Zeamer's Medal of Honor on display in the WWII Gallery at the National Museum of the U.S. Air Force. The Medal of Honor is the highest award for valor in action against an enemy force which can be bestowed upon an individual serving in the Armed Services of the United States. Zeamer's remarkable B-17 crew was the most highly-decorated aircrew in history. Zeamer and the bombardier, 2nd Lt. Joseph Sarnoski, received the Medal of Honor, while seven other members of the crew were awarded the Distinguished Service Cross, the Nation's second highest honor. Hospital Walls from Iraq

Dayton, Ohio -- These walls came from the “Warrior’s Lounge” at the US Air Force Contingency Aeromedical Staging Facility (CASF) at Balad’s Air Force Theater Hospital in Iraq. Patients and visitors were encouraged to sign the walls as an informal way to display unit pride, remember friends, or just say “thank you.” The messages pay tribute to patients and medical staff who served in Operation IRAQI FREEDOM.
