Distinguished Service Cross, 1951

Private 1st Class Desmond R. Wilkerson, a medic, volunteered to go on a mission in bad weather to rescue a downed Navy flier. At the scene, Wilkerson left the helicopter to help the pilot on board but was later killed when the helicopter crashed in poor visibility.

Screening at Entrance
All visitors may be screened with a metal detector upon entry. In addition all bags are subject to search and may be placed through an X-Ray machine. Weapons are not permitted including pocket knives and firearms, to include conceal carry and other dangerous weapons.
